What is the point of X-Play? Seriously? I mean, Morgan Webb is cute enough, but it seriously has to be one of the worst shows on television.
I never watch it. Never. But, yesterday, I was out of rehearsal early and it happened to be on TV when I turned it on. I was beat and didn't want to make the effort to change it. Do you have a TV show that you never get to watch, but when you do make the time, you find that it works its magic and you fall in love with it all over again? X-Play is the exact antithesis of that. Everything that grated on my nerves in the first place is still there and in full effect. It's barely informative, the hosts aren't charismatic and, its worst offense, the snarky humor isn't only funny, it's downright offensive to think that people in an office somewhere think that this is how video game fans talk or want to be talked to.
It kills me to think that the writers on that show are getting paid in real, American dollars, as opposed to rape dollars. These people are making a living based on undercutting the video gaming populace and treating us like we're one sneering monolith of humanity, all wanting to discount actual game coverage and laugh at Dane Cook.
I hate X-Play. But, yeah, Morgan Webb is pretty cute.
